Don't Cha

We think fruit is a cool snack.

The extension group rewrote words to a song for us to sing, and made this music video to show you what we think about fruit.
We showed our movie at our EHSAS Cluster's Manaiakalani Film Festival today along with other schools in our community.

The Olympics is about countries from all over the world that participate in different kinds of sports.

When the Evers-Swindell twins were having their final rowing match I got all excited. The Evers-Swindell twins have a special boat called a 2 sculled boat. Wee the Evers-Swindell twins were nearly at the finish and they had a photo finish with Germany.

When running was on I watched Nick willis get a bronze medal for running 1500 meters. Then I watched the mens 1000 meters. A Jamaican man called Usain Bolt broke a record. His record was 19.58 seconds.

Just last week I watched the shot put final for the women. Valerie Vili represented New Zealand for the women’s shot put. When she threw the shot put she got 22.10 metres and won gold.

Hayden Roulston is a cyclist. He used a special bike called a super bike. After his cycling match he got a silver medal in the velodrome.

I think new Zealand should be proud of their gold, silver and bronze medals.

Snails

The Hawks have been reading and writing about snails. Did you know that our native New Zealand snail is a carnivore and does't eat plants?
We have found out a lot about the snail's habitat, diet and enemies.

What else do you know about snails?

Missing by A. A Milne

The Pukekos Literacy group liked this poem because it was about a mouse, and we have some pet mice in our classroom. Our teacher doesn't want our mice to escape and go missing though!

Can you spot the little change we made to A. A Milne's poem to make it relevant to Glen Innes?

The Pines

Around our school there is a big line of pine trees. We hope they don't get cut down like the ones in this poem.

We did like all the sounds and images Margaret Mahy uses in her poem though. Hainite, Joe and Stevie have tried to recreate the pictures they had in their minds in this movie.
